Did you know that flower petals, fallen leaves, and even kitchen scraps can be transformed into beautiful colors and unexpected patterns—using nothing more than simple kitchen tools?

Join us for a natural dye workshop at Circular Library on Abbot Kinney in Venice, CA, where you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of natural dyeing and leave with the confidence and inspiration to continue exploring color at home.

​

In this workshop, you’ll learn steam dyeing, an ecological and intuitive technique that uses a stovetop steamer to gently transfer natural pigments from plants directly onto fabric. 

​

Each participant will create and take home two silk scarves—one on a white base and one on a pre-dyed base—each revealing its own unique patterns and color stories.

​

This workshop is also a beautiful Valentine’s gift idea—whether you come with a partner or friend, or create something meaningful to give to a loved one. There’s something special about gifting an object made slowly, by hand, and with intention.

​

The workshop runs for 2.5 hours and takes place in the Circular Library event space. To keep the experience intimate and hands-on, the class is limited to 8 participants.

Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. If fewer than 5 students enroll, the workshop will be canceled and all fees fully refunded.

No prior experience is required, and there is no minimum age. 

​

Class fee: $150 per person
Includes an instruction booklet and two silk scarves to take home.
